Department of Chemistry organized National Online Quiz in the month of June 2020.
National level Online Quiz was conducted by Department of Science and Humanities (Chemistry) on “Applications of Chemistry in Engineering and Covid-19 Awareness” in the month of June 2020. Total 1200+ participants from different parts of the country participated. E-certificates were awarded to the participants who scored more than 50%.
English department has choosen a course namely, “Career Edge – Knockdown the Lockdown” provided by TCSiON – Digital Learning Hub and made all the students to register in the month of May -June 2020.
During the lock down many companies came forward with courses that could be utilised by students. Among those, English department chose a course namely,
“Career Edge – Knockdown the Lockdown” provided by TCSiON – Digital Learning Hub. This course mainly focused on the necessary skillset demanded by industries
which was guided by TCS experts.
The Department of English made all the students register this course and guided them through the examination after going through 15 modules. After the completion of
the course, students also received a certificate.

A Guest Lecture on WASTE TO ENERGY on 10th December, 2019 in the BIET Auditorium and it was conducted by the DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY. The main aim of the lecture was to bring awareness for the 1st year students about waste management.
Dr. A. G. Rao explained the students on high rate Bio-Metha nation technology for the treatment of organic solid waste namely Anaerobic Gas lift Reactor (AGR). Commercial plants (about 15) based on AGR Technology are working in India for the treatment of food waste, market and vegetable waste etc.
This session was very interactive, impressive, scientific knowledge exchange for all the first year students as well as faculty members where Dr. A. G. Rao responded to all the queries raised by the students.

B.Tech 1st year CIVIL students visited OSMANIA UNIVERSITY (OU) Campus on 8th December, 2019 to show the architecture of OU campus. It has a vast sprawling campus set in picturesque and idyllic surroundings. Buildings of great architectural elegance and variety enhance its beauty. Availability of the latest facilities makes it a very modern University.

Department of Chemistry, Sciences and Humanities, organized a one day Workshop on "Chemoinformatics and Engineering" on 28th November 2019. Around 160 Students from 1st Year registered in the workshop and got benefited.The workshop started with an inaugural session which was followed by the lecture by Dr U purushottam, CEO, QSTATIX Pvt Ltd. The afternoon session was scheduled for hands on session by Dr T Karunakar, Director, QSTATIX Pvt Ltd, wherein participants used computational softwares and tools to understand the applicability of tools in solving problems.

Legal Awareness Program by SHE Team on 07/11/2019.
Stating that a lot of awareness needs to be created among public with respect to safety of women, Rachakonda DCP Mrs. SK.Saleema along with SHE Teams conducted an awareness programme on “SHE for HER- Whatsapp Group” on 7th November 2019. She said that SHE teams help the women by providing safety and secure measures.
“Rachakonda SHE teams are all set to start a programme “SHE for HER” in which two students will be selected from each college and will be trained by SHE teams to fight against the eve-teasing crimes in colleges. It will help us in preventing the offences of crime against women”.

Dr. J MADHAVI informed us about how Gender Sensitization takes place in the society, such as socialization, which includes family and society, education, media and language. This lead us to think how much a person’s upbringing may affect a person’s thought process. This session was very impressive, interactive and thought provoking for the students as well as faculty members where she answered all the queries put up by the students to their full satisfaction.

The BIET Hackathon was organised for I yr students on 30 th Oct 2019 by ECE/CSE/EEE/ME & CE Dept.,
and 150 teams were participated from all departments.
Theme of the competition was Robotics & Drone, Waste Management, Security & Surveilance,
Smart Communication, Health Care, Agriculture & Rural Developement, Smart vehicles etc.
