The B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was started in the year 2001 with an intake of 60, enhanced to 120 in 2009, 120 to 180 in 2013 and 180 to 240 in 2014 and 240 in 2015.The main focus of the department is to produce graduates & post graduates with strong fundamentals in Computer Science and Engineering domain. Computer Science and Engineering programme is designed to create globally competent manpower for the information and communication technology (ICT) industry The course is an outcome based structured to help students to achieve this goal.

The course was accredited by National Board of Accreditation(NBA) in 2007 for a duration of 3 years and second time accreditation in 2019 for a duration of 3 years (i.e. from the Academic Year 2019-2020 to 2021-2022) and renewed in Tier-II for the duration of 3 years from the Academic Year: 2022-2023 to Academic Year: 2024-2025. The department comprises well qualified faculties.

M. Tech (Computer Science and Engineering)

M. Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) is a two year full time post-graduate programme approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) for the students who have a B.E / B. Tech in any branch of engineering, M.Sc and M.C.A. The course is offered by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering by highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty. Intake to this course is 24, selected by J N T University by common Entrance Test.

The course offers core subjects like Advanced Computer Architecture, Computer Networks, RDBMS, Software Engineering, Language Processor and Operating Systems in the first two semesters and a host of elective subjects like Data structures, Advanced Computer Graphics, Distributed systems, Artificial Intelligence, etc.

A dedicated project work is taken up by every student for the next two semesters. The project work is of high quality basing used in current industry practices. Project work is supported by leading MNC's and Defence laboratories doing state of art research and development.
